Palo Santo, meaning "Holy Wood", is a tree that grows on the coast of South America. Our Palo Santo is sustainably and ethically sourced in Peru. It is often used for smudging as you would with Sage or Cedar because of its purifying and cleansing properties.
Palo Santo has a beautiful sweet and woody aroma when burnt. The wood is believed to bring many benefits including healing and spiritual properties while clearing the air around you from negative emotions, thoughts, and feelings. Its slightly sweet, woodsy scent creates a warm and welcoming space anywhere in your home.
** Because it is considered a sacred tree, it is harvested using only fallen parts of the tree. It is related to Frankincense, Myrrh and Copal. It is part of citrus family and has earthy yet sweet notes of pine, mint, and lemon.
How to use: Light the end of one wood stick by holding a flame to it for 10-20 seconds. Once lit, gently blow out flame and the red hot end of the stick will slowly burn like incense. When finished, place on Smudge Plate or something fire-safe such as a shell and let it extinguish itself. These sticks will last through many uses.
